About Me

Hi my name is Maddy, I am a Melbourne based independent disability support worker and I am excited to assist you with day to day tasks to make your life easier and help you to achieve your goals or just help you cruise on by with life. I pride myself on giving the best care available by treating people with the dignity and respect that they deserve, I work with a boundary centred approach whilst maintaining empathy to all participants. I also look forward to working directly with participants and their families through the NDIS model.

I adore animals and have 5 pets at home. My two english staffys Flynn and Ari rule the house and my 3 cats Flame, Ghost and Misty are highly affectionate and cheeky. I also like to assist with injured wild life and feed the wild birds in my back yard. I grew up in Kinglake and I am known for being highly empathetic and reliable. Keeping active is also important to me.

Experience

I first started my journey in the Disability sector in 2012 when I decided to complete my certificate IV in disability because I wasn’t sure what career I wanted to pursue once I had finished secondry school. My whole family are nurses but my grandmother convinced me to get into the disability sector instead. As it turns out my passion lies with disability and makes me feel whole so it was a must to stay within the sector.

In 2013 once I completed my certificate I was recuited by DHHS, now known as DFFS. During this time I gained my experience specialising in residential care and respite for children, young adults and the elderly across 300 CRU homes employed as a well respected casual for 10 years which gave me the oppurtunity to work with an unusually vast amount of disabilities and conditions. In 2023 wholesome hearts disability services was created with a mission to provide high quality care and assistance. I currently specialise in aquired brain injuries, intellectual disabilities, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, multiple disabilities, neurological conditions and spinal cord injuries. I also have been highly trained and certified in the past with tracheostomy and ventilation care but currently do not practice it.
